CANOE REACH PROJECT FEATURED IN ROCKY MOUNTAIN GOAT NEWSPAPER

6/7/2018

The countdown until drilling is on for the the Canoe Reach project's thermal gradient wells and excitement around the project has started to spread. News of our newly permitted project has been featured in the Rocky Mountain Goat newspaper, in an article entitled "Borealis gets permit to drill" written by Andru McCracken. The article outlines the current status of the project and the next steps that Borealis will be undertaking. The article states that "Borealis GeoPower’s CEO Alison Thompson said that her team members were in Valemount on Monday for an Emergency Response Plan meeting with their contractors." The article goes on to quote Borealis' CEO Alison Thompson as saying “Drilling will commence shortly after that.”

In addition to being permitted by the BC Oil and Gas Commission, the drilling site (not the power plant site) has also been checked by the Simpcw First Nation via cultural monitoring, as referred to in the article.
