BGP is a private Canadian corporation focused on developing projects in geothermal and solution mining throughout Canada. BGP is seeking an experienced, Calgary based Geo-spatial data analyst with a strong understanding of the Canadian energy (conventional or renewable) or mining industry. Our portfolio includes projects as well as a diverse collection of consulting assignments. We are the next generation of renewable energy and mineral/metal recovery via brine mining. It's a clean process that produces baseload power/heat and enriched mineral brines that can fuel communities and commodity markets. Because of this, the role is ideal for a candidate with data analysis experience in the oil and gas or mining sector who is looking to transition to the clean-tech sector.

Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Provide data production, spatial modelling, mapping, and analysis support.
- Uses geospatial data to complete tasks using knowledge of Geographical Information Systems.
- Adhering to established Quality Assurance/Quality Control Processes.
- Perform data editing, digitizing, scanning and conversion.
- Develop maps and other cartographic products for offline use by teams in the field.
- Participation in team and independent based work.
- Assists team in creating moderately complex aerial and mapping exhibits.
- Occasionally work outside the usual office environment as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Completed post-secondary studies related to GIS, Geography or Geomatics; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Approximately 1-3 years of related work experience.
- Excellent and demonstrable ArcGIS skills around data creation, manipulation, and entry. Must possess the ability to create high quality maps independently.
- Knowledge of GIS Platforms and ESRI software suite including ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS online, ArcMap is required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously; confident managing overlapping deadlines.
- Ability to perform work accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
- Ability to occasionally travel to support field data.
- Ability to make maps for offline acquisition for fields studies.
- Work in diverse work and team environments.
- Familiarity with land regulations within British Columbia, experience with permitting.
- Experience with Python or R.
