Canadian Geothermal Code: Resource Assessment
In conjuction with the Canadian Geothermal Energy Association’s (CanGEA) recent news announcement of the release of the Canadian Geothermal Code for Public Reporting, Borealis Geopower is pleased to annouce that we are one of the few companies in Canada qualified to analyze and assess geothermal energy resources according to the standards of this new code. The code provides a minimum set of requirements for the public reporting of Exploration Results, Geothermal Resources and Geothermal Reserves. Borealis also manages developing projects by identifying and exploiting key aspects of geothermal energy project potential. We construct a thorough resource development strategy and carry out subsurface reservoir mapping. The screening model that we have developed for exploration and mapping involves aspects of both sub-surface (geological, down-hole engineering et al.) and surface (economics, market, infrastructure, et al.) analysis. Borealis is then equipped to provide a complete picture of any property’s quality as well as being able to differentiate between alternative assets and development paths. Accordingly, we can contextually modify any geothermal field development plan to maximize the value within any resource context. With a focused mandate on a smaller number of projects, Borealis is able to move forward quickly with the necessary research and development to bring your project toward the end goal of renewable energy power production.
