Borealis GeoPower Inc. is pleased to announce that on December 6, 2017 the BC Ministry of Energy and Mines and Petroleum Resources, Electricity & Alternative Energy Division, accepted our payment for an additional geothermal permit in the Valemount area. Title has now been granted to Borealis on lands that we have called our "permit extension" in this map.

Borealis will now seek well authorizations from the Oil and Gas Commission in order to commence our drilling operations. Working with stakeholders, we intend to renewably fuel hot pools, a direct use Geo-Heat Park, a micro-electricity  demonstration project, and ultimately utility-scale electricity from the geothermal reservoirs.
We'd like to thank Chief Matthew and the Simpcw First Nation, Ministry of Energy, NDP Cabinet, MLA Shirley Bond, MLA Andrew Weaver, Regional District of Fraser - Fort George, Village of Valemount, Valemount Community Forest, Valemount Geothermal Society, the businesses and individuals who provided support letters to the Ministry, as well as the Robson Valley Community at large for the encouragement provided to getting the geothermal industry started in the province, right here in Valemount.
You can help Borealis thank our government stakeholders by sending them short emails with the links below and letting them know that you support geothermal energy:

BOREALIS GEOPOWER has operations on the traditional, unceded territory of the people of the kitselas First Nation. the kitselas people are part of the larger tsimshian nation whose traditional language is sm'algyax. kitselas means "people of the canyon" in sm'algyax. the kitselas First Nation has been archaeologically documented to occupy the kitselas canyon, east of terrace (british columbia) on the skeena river, for at least 5000 years.

We are grateful to the past, present and future stewards of this land.
